When should I contact a moving company?

It is recommended to contact Smartmoving as early as possible, about 3-4 weeks before your desired moving date. This allows us enough time to organize and optimize the transport, ensuring that everything is properly prepared for your move.

After you contact us, a Smartmoving agent will be dedicated to answering any questions and collaborating with you to plan every detail of the moving process.

After the first contact with the moving company, what is the next step?

After contacting Smartmoving, we will schedule a day for an evaluation of your belongings, either through a visit or via video call. After the evaluation, we will present you with a detailed plan for the moving process and a price offer.

What factors determine the final cost of the moving service?

The final price of your move is determined by several factors, including the volume of goods, distance traveled, requested services (packing, furniture assembly, etc.), access to the loading/unloading site, and possibly the moving schedule. A Smartmoving agent will review these factors to provide you with a fair and transparent quote.

What is an evaluation?

During an in-home or virtual evaluation, a Smartmoving representative will visit your home/office and estimate the weight and size of all the items you will be moving. You will also discuss details related to the move, such as dates, packing services, available packages, etc., and we will answer any questions you may have. At the end of the visit, we will provide a personalized written estimate for the moving service.

After accepting the price offer following the evaluation, will the costs remain fixed, or can they change?

After accepting the quoted price following the evaluation, the costs remain fixed, giving you financial certainty and transparency. The only exceptions are if you request additional services or if we reasonably believe that extra services are necessary to complete your shipment safely.

If you request additional services, such as extra storage or a change in the delivery address, you may be required to pay for those services, in addition to the initially quoted amount, before delivery.

Origin Service / Packing

I chose Smartmoving to pack all my belongings; what do I need to do?

If you chose Smartmoving to pack all your belongings, it is recommended that you group and label small items you want us to pack beforehand. This way, our team will know exactly what to include in the packing process and what to exclude. Other than that, you can relax, as we take care of everything else: disassembling furniture, packing items (clothing, books, dishes, furniture, appliances, etc.), as well as labeling and inventorying the parcels.

I want to pack all my belongings myself; can I still reach out to you for advice and guidance?

Absolutely! We recommend you do so. Even if you choose to pack the items yourself, we are here to help. Feel free to contact us anytime with any questions or for advice, and we will be happy to assist you.

What items cannot be moved?

There are certain types of items that a moving company cannot transport, including hazardous materials (chemicals, explosives, flammable materials), illegal items, pets, and some species of plants. These restrictions are for safety and legal reasons. For specific details and questions about the items you can transport, we recommend contacting the Smartmoving team for personalized assistance. Additionally, for international moves, it's important to check the list of restricted or limited items for import in the respective countries.

After completing the unpacking, we ensure that the leftover packing materials are collected and taken for responsible recycling.

What is the procedure for completing the moving service?

Before signing the receipt of goods, you should ensure that you have received all your belongings by following these steps:


1. Check the inventory: Use the inventory list (packing list) prepared by our team during the pickup and packing of your items to ensure that all parcels and objects have been identified and noted.


2. Inspect each item: Examine each item individually to check its condition and integrity. Note any damages or visible issues on the inventory list.


3. Ask the moving team: If you have any questions or concerns about any aspect of the move, address them to the moving team before signing the document. They can provide clarifications or solutions in case of any misunderstandings.

After unloading, I noticed some goods were damaged. What should I do?

If you notice that some of your goods were damaged after the move with Smartmoving, please notify us immediately. We are here to assist you, and we will initiate the damage assessment process. We have policies and procedures in place for handling claims and compensating damages according to the contract terms. Our customer is our priority, and we ensure that any issues are addressed promptly and fairly.
